2. Visiting the site
This app does not use cookies, analytics or tracking, and it does not log IP addresses. Fonts and styles are served from this server, so no data is sent to third parties such as Google when you open the page.
To deliver the page, the hosting provider (self-hosted in Aachen; traffic is relayed by Tailscale Funnel, Tailscale Inc.) processes technical data such as your IP address. This is necessary to run the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). For how long the provider keeps such logs, see its privacy policy.
To limit abuse of the alert sign-up, the app keeps the IP addresses of sign-up requests in memory only, for at most one hour. They are never written to disk (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Your browser's local storage keeps the e-mail address you last entered, the alerts you created on this device and which categories you expanded. This data stays on your device, is only used to provide these functions, and can be deleted at any time by clearing the site data in your browser.
3. E-mail alerts
If you set an alert, we store your e-mail address, the category, when you signed up, when you confirmed and when we last sent you an alert. We use this data only to e-mail you when a slot opens or an earlier slot appears in that category.
- Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
- Double opt-in: we first send a confirmation e-mail. The alert only starts once you click the link in it. Unconfirmed sign-ups are deleted automatically after 48 hours.
- Withdrawing consent: every alert e-mail contains a link that removes the alert immediately. You can also remove it on the site or write to us. Removing an alert deletes its data.
- Storage: until you remove the alert.
- Recipients: the hosting provider (self-hosted in Aachen; traffic is relayed by Tailscale Funnel, Tailscale Inc.) and the e-mail delivery provider (Google (Gmail), Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC) process the data on our behalf. We do not share it with anyone else and do not use it for advertising. These providers may process data outside the EU; such transfers rely on an EU adequacy decision (for Google, the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework).
4. Your rights
You have the right to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object (Art. 21). To use them, write to the e-mail address above.
You can also complain to a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen (LDI NRW).
